Born in the only state that locals can use their hand to point out where they live within in it. Michigan known for long sunsets, ocean like bodies of water, cold winters, and a heck of a lot of lake effect snow. This was an excellent proving ground for me to explore my drive for adventure. I have an artist mother and an outdoorsman father that provided many alternative views to life and how to live it. From ski racing on wind pounded ice, hiking miles of fresh water coastline, snowshoeing on snow covered sand dunes, and sailing! I was driven to see what adventure could extend beyond the hills and water of Michigan.
I've ventured around the world to ski or coach skiing, teach sailing, sea kayak guiding in the San Juan Islands, and on the trail to guide young adventurers. I've also continued to help others grow and develop through my experience as a Wilderness Therapy Guide throughout the Western U.S and I'm a proud National Outdoor Leadership School Mountaineering graduate. During my career I've also earned several wilderness medicine certifications as well as extensive training in sailing instruction, kayaking instruction, avalanche education, leadership facilitation, primitive living skills, and 200 hour training as a Yoga Instructor.
From heli-skiing in British Columbia to 400+ professional days as a lead guide in wilderness therapy, I have now found home in the Pacific Northwest. I spend most of my winters coaching skiing, traveling to ski, promoting my sponsors, and selling heli-skiing adventures. My summers are spent thinking about winter, venturing into the Cascade Mountains, or spending time on the left coast water with my wonderful wife and loyal dog.
